+ SOLEMN STATIONS OF THE CROSS +
GOOD FRIDAY EVENING 7:00 PM
Via Delorosa – Way of Sorrows
On this most solemn night which we Christians dare to call “Good Friday” we are privileged to be captured up into Christ’s painful journey along the road to Calvary. We will, in mind and spirit, stand at the foot of the cross with Mary His mother, John His beloved disciple and the crowds which gathered to witness this public spectacle just before Passover. We will, together, meditate on the humiliation of Christ, the Suffering Servant and His terrible crucifixion and death which brought about the forgiveness of sin for all people for all time.
Come and join us here in our Parish Church as we pray and meditate on the Stations of the Cross and conclude our evening by meditating on the Five Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary this final time before Easter.
Yes, there are many activities on Good Friday…the Fast and Abstinence - the Passion at 3 PM and the Solemn Stations at 7:00 PM. It can be a real drain. We can become hungry, thirsty, tired and a bit achy by all of this. So….can we even begin to imagine how Christ felt at the end of His day, His last day? This Good Friday, let’s do all we can….for love of Him.

Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Were you there when they nailed Him to a tree? Were you there when they laid Him in a tomb? Please try and make this traditional and very beautiful form of worship a part of your Lenten practice.
